Pierre Orsi

Last night I was invited to a French gastronomy restaurant, Pierre Orsi. I was surprised with the Decor from the outside, I felt like Christmas, party time. As we walked in to the restaurant, a guy in old fashion costume opened the door for you. Then we were welcomed by well-mannered staffs and they guided us to our table. I was so in love with the decor inside, elegant and effortless. Ps-i also in love with their toilet, omg!! What I admired the most was I felt like home, family dinner. And at the end of the dinner we got a visit from Mr. Orsi, the Chef!!!!

Talking about menu, we didn’t have to take one hour to think what we are going to chose because they made their menu so simple yet what they suggested were sublime, Mmmmm, I was so spoiled.

Salmon tartare was served while we were choosing our dishes… That was delicious.

I am amazed the foods were presented beautifully and so simple, clean. I know there were lots of work behind those simple dishes. By the way the taste were magical; lots of flavors. Gosh!!! I really appreciated my meals.

Here are some pictures I got from my last night dinner.

Brasserie Georges

What’s a nice Sunday afternoon! Today is different, I am free from cooking. I am invited to have my Lunch in one of very famous brasseries in Lyon, Brasserie Georges. I’ve always heard about this restaurant. So yeahhhhh!!!!

I walked down the street which was not so glamour, suddenly I found myself in front of an immense entrance, I was welcomed by charming waiter in very old chic fashion. Mmmmm I felt back in old French era. He guided me to my table. Very high ceiling, lots of red benches and white table, few great big chandeliers and the decoration is simple yet so elegant , but somehow my first impression was factory.

The service was good, they gave me menu and I ordered the suggestion of chef, for me that would be the best of the day.

To be honest the dishes were ok, that’s Lyon foods, but there are alot better in town. I still enjoyed it, even though I couldn’t finish my dish.

I love the small old machine which made birthday songs. That’s so cool!!!

Sweet potato is not only delicious but also rich of multi vitamins, iron, potassium. That’s maybe the reason why we should eat more sweet potato. Hihihi,,, Well, talking about being healthy, pizza does not gain so much reputation as a healthy food. But the trick is depends on what you are going to put on your pizza.

  2. On our Pizza dough you spread generously olive oil or little bit if you don’t workout alot 😛 . Then you put Potatoes on top and follow by cheese, salt and pepper.
  3. Then Morbier cheese and little bit of Gruyere

Hello Hello!!!! Such an honor to be invited by my friends who love cooking. I have such a great Sunday with great foods. OH gosh, What else should I expect?!

Today menu are amazing, what I could say was mmmmmmm,, so delicious! apéro as French called them, something you eat before your meal. I actually didn’t like Foie gras poelé but the one which my friend made was so so delicious!!! I share you one of my favorite food for today.

It’s actually so simple to make he gave me the tip to make it well.

after cutting your foie gras, you keep it in the freezer for about 15-20 mins. Then you heat up your pan. Wait until it’s really hot, you don’t need oil ( so cool )… Then put the Foie gras in the pan, turn over after 1 min or so and you serve on toast with little bit sea salt, that’s nothing you can say more than Oh gosh,,, the heaven is just in front of you…

foie gras poelé

There are so many more but this week is enough just for Foie gras Poelé 😉

Have a great Sunday

Khmer spicy tofu

This dish is inspired from our typical dish called ” Prohok ktis ” which mean ” Fermented fish in coconut milk “; it’s more delicious than its name 😉 . We normally use minced pork and fermented fish as base ingredients.

It’s so shame that the vegetarian people couldn’t taste our super dish. So here is the idea where I picked from Prohok Ktis. It’s worth a try, I promise you this is very delicious !!!!!

Here what you will need

500 g Firm Tofu ( break in small pieces )

200 ml coconut milk

2 tbsp of oil

2 tbsp lemongrass paste ( this is how to make it  )

1 tbsp of chilly paste ( this is how to make it  )

5 lime leaves ( sliced thinly )

salt, sugar ( go for your taste )

1 tbsp of vegetarian mushroom sauce

half of lime

and with free vegetables, you can use whatever you feel like, there’s no rules raw or cooked is your choice, just enjoy it. in this recipe I use

ginger

bell pepper

baby corns

chinese brocoli

How to cook

  1. Heat the pan than add oil. Wait until it gets hot then put the chilly paste, stir well then add lemongrass paste. Stir well till you can smell the fragrance.
  2. Add Tofu, stir well till you have good mixture of the pastes and the tofu.
  3. Add coconut milk and wait until it’s cooked
  4. Add salt, sugar and mushroom sauce
  5. Last but not least the lime leaves and add lime juice before serving.

Now you have very delicious Cambodian food in vegetarian version. Very easy, right!!!!
